Forward email into your library

Forward newsletters, research notes, or long emails to your private inbound address. Commonplace stores a clean reading copy and keeps the original metadata with it.

Organize with collections

Create collections for projects, topics, or reading lists. Add saved entries manually from the article page or route new forwards directly into a collection.

Forward directly to a collection

Use the collection-specific forwarding address shown on each collection page. New matching emails save to your library and appear in that collection automatically.

How it works

Forward to your library.

  1. 01

    Get your address

Open Inbound settings while signed in and copy your private forwarding address.

  2. 02

    Send the email

Forward an email or newsletter to that address from any email client.

  3. 03

    Read the saved copy

Commonplace cleans the content, preserves source details, and saves the entry privately.

  4. 04

    Organize it

Archive, mark read, publish, or add the entry to collections when you are ready.

Direct collection routing

Skip the sorting step when you already know where it belongs.

Every collection you own can show a copyable forwarding address. Use it for topic-specific newsletters, project research, client reading, or anything you want grouped as it arrives.

  1. Create

Create a collection for the topic, project, client, or research area.

  2. Copy

Open the collection page and copy the address under Forward directly to this collection.

  3. Route

Forward emails to that collection address. The entry remains private and is added to the collection.

  4. Fallback

If the alias is not recognized, the email still saves to the main library.

Example

abc123+founders@getindexer.com

Unknown aliases save to the library only, so a typo should not make a forwarded email disappear.

Privacy rules

  • New email entries are private by default.

  • Adding an entry to a collection does not make the entry public.

  • Forwarding to a collection never changes collection visibility.

  • Unknown collection aliases do not reject the email.
